If you don’t know your rights, you don’t have any. Period.
Recently a friend of mine had some unusual activity on his credit card – it wasn’t him spending a couple of hundred dollars. It was someone else. I’ve had that happen and it’s not only annoying, it pises me off! HOW DARE THAT PERSON (s)!.
The sad truth is, this is happening EVERYDAY. I bet you know someone who experienced this as well.
It feels helpless too. Now that’s just with credit cards! The righhts of many in general are being violated.
Here is my personal story:
My son has a learning dissability. He’s been tested and was put /enrolled in an I (independent) E (educational ) P (program). He is 13, 7th grade and has had the WORST year ever. His teachers have embarrassed him in front of his class by saying things like “now I have to send your mother an email about you not doing your work”. One teacher forced him out of the class room to look for his homework in his locker after yelling at him in class, and going throu his book bag. On another day, one of his teachers called his reading skills “babyish”… dah… that’s part of his learning challenge.
Anyway, the way he has been treated has been totally unacceptable for teachers in a public school, with very upsetting, not to mention the bullying that goes on. I call the school and nothing happens.
So what does a parent do? Who can you go to? I felt helpless. Oh I wanted to call a lawyer so bad. But I couldn’t afford to do that. I was so upset… so I had to just “take” it.
