Trillions of cell are doing their job every second, that is so amazing. The human body is a miracle.
Yes, I agree with you the mitochondria in itself is amazing!

Absolutely stunning! What an awe-inspiring, computer-generated, animated 3D depiction of the incredible complexity that’s our sub-microscopic biochemistry in action.

It so happens Lesly, that I used to teach this stuff to kids, and now I, like you, try to care for patients whose bodies are deranged in all sorts of ways on the inside. It’s true, our lifestyles are harming us, me included.

On a positive note, now for just one day before I die I want to be a ribosome, or a mitochondrion or a growing DNA strand or a newly duplicated protein molecule, even a helper cell in the cell membrane, just like in the video.

But only if that totally captivating soundtrack’s there to listen to as I go about my wonderful work. Right now listening through stereo headphones on full bore it moves me to tears.

Because I want to make those lil’ guys have a much easier job from now on. Thank you so much.

Awesome post and video, Lesly.
The complexity, connectivity and functionality of each cell is mind-boggling, and while seemingly quite separate from how we see ourselves as complete bodies and minds, it is true that we influence cellular expression with every thought, feeling and step we take. I love the poetic expression of our cells as having jobs to do, places to go and ways of communicating beyond our imagination!
Thanks for the reminder that our cells are not just listening in but in fact carrying all of our emotional history, and that our cellular memory can be influenced when we are prepared to do the shifting work it takes..

What an absolutely wonderful post and amazing video! How easily we forget (or ignore) the fact that we truly are an interconnected community, from the micro-cellular to the global and universal, with no one member independent from all the rest.
