Settling is a life and dream robber.
Do you know anyone who avoids making efforts to change their life towards what they want it to reallybe? I find a lot of complainers or “dreamers” wish their life away. How does this happen? I think the Baby Boomers have been conditioned to do what their parents did. After all they were the ones who lived through the depression and had a lot of views that were passed down to us (I am giving myself away here – age wise). Phrases like, “you have to work hard”, “go o college and get a good job and you’ll be set for life”. I think it’s a bunch a bunk now and we have to learn new phrases, better ones to guide us now.
Today, I don’t think a college degree gets you too far. I think we are living in an age of reinvention, and the Baby Boomers (of which I am one) are challenged. No doubt. Some of us have had the rug pulled out, but good, from beneath our feet.
Yet, even so, some of us are paralyzed to do anything. Because we’re conditioned to stay the same, to believe we can’t do anything different than what we’ve always done. Yet here is the opportunity to be what you always wanted – that dream. And some are doing it!
We learn by repetition. If you hear enough negativity, enough “No’s”, enough “you can’t do that”, and if you continue to live by someone else’s rules you’ll never have the life you want.
No one teaches us how to reach for the stars in school. That’ why all these motivational speakers make millions because we are starved to know how. And some of us, even when we know how, don’t apply the knowledge. And here lies the answer of how you are conditioned: Taking action or not.
If you started to apply what you learned things would change drmatically simply because you weren’t doig the same thing!
Fill the brain with positive success stories, listen to the motivational speakers, then APPLY what you learned to your life.
Get to it.
